In order to setup vSMR to work with EuroScope, it requires some modification of your existing ASR radar display file. Most people will be creating the ground radar ASR from an existing ASR.

Creating the ground radar ASR from an existing ASR

  1. Find where the ASR you want to edit is, and open it with a text editor, such as Notepad++

  2. Find the line that says DisplayTypeName:Standard ES radar screen and change it to DisplayTypeName:SMR radar display.

  3. Find the line that says DisplayTypeNeedRadarContent:1 and change it to DisplayTypeNeedRadarContent:0. Save the file and close the editor.

  4. Open up EuroScope and load the ASR file you just edited. On the top left grey menu bar, click "EGKK" and type in caps the ICAO code of the airport you are going to control.

  5. You will now be able to load that ASR file each time you want to use the plugin, well done!

Creating the ground radar ASR from scratch

  1. In EuroScope click "Open SCT" then "New SMR radar display", a new ASR will be created to be used with the plugin, hide and show the elements you want in the display settings (see http://www.euroscope.hu/mediawiki/index.php?title=Display_Settings for more.

  2. Save the ASR file by clicking "Open SCT" and "Save As", place it where ever you want.

  3. On the top left grey menu bar, click "EGKK" and type in caps the ICAO code of the airport you are going to control.

  4. You will now be able to load that ASR file each time you want to use the plugin, well done!
