The webpack-cli was recently updated, but comes with a new arguments parser.

When running npm run compile (same commando used in ./build.sh) this gave the error:

Error: Unknown option '--env.production'

I updated the command according to webpack issue: webpack/webpack-cli#1216

Thank you for contributing 👍
This line, as the build.sh are present to keep this files as much similar as possible to the mapstore project, in order to identify the customizations for future migrations.
But in particular running npm run compile in this project doesn't make too much sense.
We can remove that line completely, instead, to avoid confusion.

You should use npm start, npm build:extension and so on, as reported in README.md.

Did you tried compile command?
