work with React 0.14?

I am hitting some of the same issues that others have reported, especially #8.

Based on the lack of responses by the author to other issues, I'm guessing this library has been abandoned. It would be nice to document that fact in the README so others don't waste time trying to get it to work.

@ryanflorence It takes 10 seconds to mark it as deprecated, much longer to become acquainted with the library enough to update it!

Totally understand that you're busy with other affairs and you're a tremendous contributor to open-source. As someone who wasted 20 minutes trying to get this to work, though, a quick deprecation notice would have been highly appreciated =)
