Deprecated Google Sign In APIs in use warning

Logged onto the google play console and was greeted with this warning regarding deprecated google sign in APIs:

Given those APIs are about to be removed this year, i've gone ahead and updated to the latest version of this plugin (v2.0.0) (I was previously on v10.14), and all works as expected.

Still though, not sure if that actually addresses this issue, as the release notes never make any mention of addressing this deprecated API usage for google sign in.

Does anyone know if the newest version of the plugin provided here still uses those deprecated sign in APIs?

If so, should I begin investigating some other means then to get around this, or will there be an update to this plugin that addresses the issue?
