I have a doorbell automation in home assistant that has 4 speaker entities in it.. They used to be direct google entities in HA but I removed the google integration in HA, set them up in MA and then added them back to the integration. This is so I could use Announce and not STOP music playback when the notification comes through. IN the automation I have all 4 entities but ever since putting them in MA I have noted HUGE delays in the notifications.. Sometimes up to 30s. It seems to be worse with Announce enabled and it seems that instead of "almost" at the same time, that one plays, then another then another.. further slowing things down. Not sure this is a bug or if it is an expected behavior as Announce needs to check if something is playing or something thus making it slower. Of note I tested this a few times with NOTHING playing on any of them. |

Putting all of the google minis in a player GROUP, then having home assistant send the notification to the group entity is a little faster. However I can still hear each speaker one by one "activate" THEN and then at same time play the announcement. It really seems like connecting/activating the speakers is serial / single threaded and VERY slow. |
