Not sure if this is a bug, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to confirm if this is an issue before I file a bug report.
(Side note, I am sure it needs to be done that way, but the bug report requirements seems a little much, seems like it might prevent many people from reporting any issues they may come across, which maybe is the point)
Anyways, I am trying to use my systems global volume (pipewire-pulseaudio) instead of MPV internal volume, which I have been able to get this to work, but just noticed an issue.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE ISSUE:
First I added the following line to my
mpv.conf
fileaudio-device=alsa/pipewire
Then I added the following two items to my
input.conf
file0 add ao-volume 2
9 add ao-volume -2
While video is playing if you tap the keybinding keys the volume adjusts fine and no issue occurs.
However if you try holding down those keybinding keys, video freezes/pauses, you also do not see the OSD volume bar animating up/down. When you release the keybinding then the OSD volume bar is updated to the proper volume % value and the video continues playing.
Maybe someone will be willing to try this, if so please let me know if this does or does not occur on your system.
Also if anyone has any ideas to fix this?
Thank You
If anyone is interested, I have one more thing I tried which I will mention below, it has a different issue.
