mpv dvd://i --stream-dump=filename.vob seems to produce corrupt output. Players like VLC show an incorrect length, and there are navigation issues. ffmpeg shows warnings. mplayer dvd://n -dvd-device /dev/sr0 -dumpstream -dumpfile filename.vob on the other hand produces valid output, but it has issues with hardware management.
