It has been detected, exclusively in GHA runs, that the xmlrpc-beta extension is not being installed any more (since July 28 2022). This doesn't affect Travis, where xmlrpc-beta, from PECL, continues being installed ok.
While the impact with plugins is really minor (only plugins requiring xmlrpc services will fail, and I bet that there aren't many... surely we'll have to apply a change to GHA dist files and docs, similar to this (that belongs to core)
Note that an issue has been created @ php-setup GHA action, because it seems that, with the latest release, is when problems started to happen. Let's see how that issue goes:
It has been confirmed to be a recent bug in the setup-php action (see issue in previous comment), and it has been already fixed and will be available in next setup-php release.
Then, any run failing because of the xmlrpc extension with PHP 8.0 should be, automatically, back to pass.
