Display when connection is lost and having retry button

Hi!

First, thanks for this wonderful project!

Two things:

1. got disconnected from the IRC server, but I didn't notice it (a friend told me that this stuff was displayed: MyNick ([email protected]) has quit (Ping timeout: 265 seconds). I didn't saw anything (neither any error) in the interface, just talking alone for a moment. Ideally, having a icon showing the current connection status will be great!
2. after display this, a cool thing would be a click on a "Retry" button, to restart the connection without losing all the history

Checked the logs, nothing displayed. ~7min after the timeout, got Error: read ECONNRESET in the output.

I've recently merged a "disconnect" event to the IRC library that Shout is using.
Commit here: slate/slate-irc@6f2c820

But it's currently not implemented into Shout. Shout has been lacking proper disconnect handling for a while now (sorry..). Some kind of auto-reconnect and a "you've been disconnected"-message would be really useful.

Could someone please go on and improve this? Around a day shout runs smooth but then I have to restart it because apparentyl it looses connection and does not try to reload, and exatly then all my logs in the chatwindows are lost...

This is a major problem. Shout NEEDS to notify the user when it is disconnected from a server instead of waiting until the user tries to send a message, there should also be a way to reconnect to the server without losing all your connected channels and without restarting the whole Shout instance.
