I would like to have the ability to "close" or "resolve" threads in Element Web, making them disappear from the threads interface (right-hand sidebar) or clearly marked as "resolved" or "closed."
Why would you like to do it?
Currently, threads remain visible in the threads sidebar indefinitely, which can create clutter and make it harder to focus on active or unresolved conversations. A mechanism to close or resolve threads would improve the organization and usability of the threads view, especially in busy rooms with multiple ongoing discussions. It would help users to keep track of which threads still require attention and which are complete.
How would you like to achieve it?
Introduce a "close" or "resolve" button for threads, allowing users to mark a thread as resolved.
Closed threads could either:
Be hidden from the threads interface (with an optional filter or toggle to view them if needed).
Be visually marked as "closed" or "resolved," with a distinct style or indicator.
This feature could also include a notification or confirmation step to ensure intentional closures and potentially allow room moderators to manage thread statuses.
thx,
maciek
