My Q6 Quattro has lost its onboard internet connection, this has the following consequences:

  • No updated navigation info (no traffic info, no details about charger occupancy, etc)
  • No connection to the App, so I do not know what the status of the battery is while I am away from the car

Together with the dealer we performed a MMI Factory Reset and now the MMI doesn't switch back on anymore

I left my Q6 e-tron quattro at the dealer yesterday.

additional info: I am pretty sure it lost its connection when I crossed the border from Italy to France last Friday, until that moment everything was working fine (I drove ~1000km in Italy before this trip to France). Once in France I noticed the navi was not showing traffic jams anymore, and we ended up in a pretty big jam. At the time I though that maybe I should have enabled roaming somewhere. Later I also noticed I could not check upon my car from the myAudi App.

Back in Italy the problem persisted. And I started investigating a bit more. On the MMT screen the connection icon (usually showing 5G signal) was indicating 2G, in the Navi screen on the bottom left I would see a cloud icon with a diagonal stripe through it and the text offline next to it.

Thta is when I decided to visit the dealer and leave the car. I suggested a reset of the communication module since it was all due to the MMI being offline.

UPDATE: I just received a call from the dealer, the issue has been resolved by resetting the OCU (I guess it stands for Onboard Connection Unit ;)) by removing and reinserting some fuses. The bigger issue should be resvolved in the next software update. Will pick up the car after lunch and see... Ow and I will ask which fuses to remove to reset myself in case I might need it again.

@bwa unfortunately I have no photos of the MMI at that time. Will do next time, although I hope it won't happen again

Update: picked the car up tonight. And after spending half an hour setting up everything I had set up in the past two weeks I was ready to leave.

They didn't want to explain me which fuses I had to pull to reset the OCU so I hope it doesn't happen again.

I have the exact same issue, my eSim deactivated on Saturday randomly without any changes. Tried to reconnect using the mobile app, however it fails each time in the Vodafone MNO activation process. The car is showing not not linked. Neither Audi, Vodafone or Cubic have any ideas what the root cause is, and we are 5 days into the process.
