As I said in react-native-tvos/react-native-tvos#11 (comment), I think it would be much cleaner and less error-prone if the tvOS platform support would be in its own tvos subdirectory rather than part of the ios subdirectory. And in the same comment, I tried to explain how I think this could be done with limited code duplication.
I would like to see this kind of thing done as part of the tvOS followup task list in #95.
@dlowder-salesforce I realized this morning that this idea would likely be a major breaking change for quite a bit of existing software, proving to be not so practical. I still hope to look into this idea someday, though.
