How can i change the boat icon to a PNG icon?

The boat icon is actually an SVG shape (triangle), defined at the end of this line:

https://github.com/SignalK/maptracker/blob/master/index.html#L115

You could change the simple triangle to an svg <image> element. See for example http://stackoverflow.com/a/19263155
