The chrome extension has the luxury of modifying an html page.

Changing strings that appear in a YouTube litho layout is way more complicated. Just look at the complexity the Return YouTube Dislike patch goes thru and it's only changing a single string one video at a time.

The browser extension seems like a lot of steps to use the feature, especially creating a new project dev key.
