I read about your low-impact site in a recent piece on the environmental impacts of the web.

I was curious how reducing the amount of light emitted by devices (through use of colour/shading) has an impact on carbon use. (I definitely appreciate the impact on eyestrain, but that doesn't seem to be the argument being made?) Would you mind clarifying this?
