Gutenberg 18.9.0+ - Editor hangs / fails to load while Gutenberg is activated

After Gutenberg 18.9.0 was pushed to WoA, some customers are reporting that the editor hangs/fails to load when trying to create or modify a page or post.

I haven't been able to reproduce the issue on my end, but the 2 customers who reported it noted that the editor was hanging consistently, and then the issue was resolved when Gutenberg was deactivated. I noted a short delay for the editor to load, during which I noted this error in the console:

chromewebdata/:1 Refused to display '{domain}' in a frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'deny'.

I setup similar conditions on my atomic site but I couldn't reproduce.
I also checked the sites in the tickets, where I briefly enabled guttenberg and I was able to load the editor properly.


Not sure what to do more.

Had a user with a similar issue today in 8590757-zen. They say when they try and edit with Safari they get a blank page but are able to edit fine with Firefox.

Thought this was a browser issue since I was not able to replicate but sharing here just in case. They see this error message:

The user experienced a blank editor screen and Jetpack settings were also blank. I wasn't able to reproduce it while SU'd.

Deactivating the Gutenberg plugin resolved both issues.

Whenever user clicks the Styles tab in the sidebar, the error message This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed takes over the selected block. I can reproduce. Deactivating Gutenberg resolves the issue.

I have no luck reproducing this issue and not sure how to move forward.
Seems like its browser related but looking though the tickets I tried lots of different ones: Chrome, Edge, Safari but still couldn't reproduce.
I asked my team to help me reproduce.

The user was seeing a blank editor and was shown an error. Deactivating the Gutenberg plugin fixed the issue. Have kept the plugin deactivated for now.

i am facing an error problem on the panel of my website, when i am trying to edit the text, through the Appearance - Editor - Templates - All templates - Page (for example) if i go on the right on Styles - Blocks and selecto to change the Paragraph text there is an error, so i cannot change the font style.

I was unable to reproduce this on a test site with a similar configuration.

@obenland Yesterday I had a customer report a similar issue (8628923-zd-a8c), where certain blocks would show an error after being clicked, but they indicated that only 2 out of the 3 site admins experienced it.

They also noted that the issue is no longer occurring today, which is the first day after their site was updated to Gutenberg 19.0.0.
